April 16 – May 1

Las Vegas ⇨ Los Angeles ⇨ Taipei ⇨ Saigon, Vietnam

Getting out of the door for our trip to Vietnam was a little hectic. I had some errands to run before we left Las Vegas on Wednesday and we needed to get Nola’s stitches taken out at Dr. B’s office. Then we had to drop both Nola and Olive off at our dog sitter’s house. We only started packing for our two-week journey with about five hours to departure.

Honestly, we generally don’t need a lot of time to pack but this was pushing it, even for us. When I pack fast like that I, of course, get this raving panic attack that nags me throughout the whole journey — “What did you forget?!” Then I start mentally walking through the rooms of my house trying to think of what I would have forgotten.

But the more you travel, the more you are comforted by the fact that whatever you left behind, you can probably get it when you land – and for much cheaper! Well, that is of course not including your photography equipment and your medications — please don’t leave those things behind.

Travel Itinerary

Here was our travel schedule for the last two weeks while we were in Vietnam. I’ll write individual blog posts about our journey and link back to them here.

While I love traveling, I am so grateful that Drew and I have built a home together that we love to come back to. Now that we’re getting settled back into Las Vegas life, I can’t wait to show you our journey through Vietnam (and do laundry, cause that’s a really serious issue). What about you? Do you love coming back to your home base, too, or would you prefer to keep traveling?

You two sure pack a lot into a two week trip. What was the original purpose of the Cu Chi tunnels? Always nice to get back home. Welcome back. Am enjoying your blog.

We did!! We took the easy way out this time and booked a tour with Gate 1. So they planned everything, which makes it so easy in places where language is really a barrier. We also used them when we toured Peru because we heard roads and maps were not always that great.
