Living in Las Vegas

So, you're thinking about moving to Las Vegas? Congratulations! My husband and I have called Las Vegas home since 2015. Here are some things you should know to get settled in Sin City.

Las Vegas is the perfect hub

Drew and I met in Nashville, moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, and then one year later moved to Washington, D.C.

In all that moving around, we were trying to find somewhere that really felt like home. We also wanted a cheaper cost of living, a good airport close by, and low taxes.

There aren’t many places that fit those criteria, but Las Vegas definitely does. So if you think Vegas sounds like a pretty awesome place to live, read on.

Las Vegas is just like any other city

Beyond the neon lights and bass-thumping techno music, Las Vegas is a city just like any other city. Once you step away from the Strip, you’ll find suburbs and neighborhoods … and a Target close by.

What Drew and I love about living in Las Vegas is the access to world-class dining — including many cultural cuisines — from street tacos to Michelin Star chefs — beautiful hiking opportunities, and the super affordable cost of living. I also love that Las Vegas averages about 300 days of sunshine every year! (And most places offer locals discounts on everything from shows to dining to drinks.)
